Purbeck Film Festival: Never Look Away
Over 65 films showcasing the very best of cinema.
From the director of the highly acclaimed Lives of Others, nominated for two Oscars and winner of Venice’s Golden Lion, Never Look Away is a cinematic treat of epic proportions. A love story, which spans 40 years and is inspired by one of Germany’s greatest artists, Gerhard Richter, the film tells how art can transform trauma into something positive. The contexts of 2 totalitarian regimes, Nazi Germany and Stasi dominated East Germany, are contrasted with the Western art world, raising many fascinating questions about the relationship between art and society.
