Purbeck Film Festival Open Air Cinema: A Quiet Place

The UK’s longest running rural and coastal film festival
A Quiet Place (15)
1hr 30 mins
The Earth lies in ruins after an attack by seemingly indestructible predatory creatures that, although blind, have superhuman hearing. Lee, Evelyn and their family trek across the deserted American wasteland, searching for refuge. However, death is just a loud noise away – and Evelyn is pregnant…
This relatively low budget sci fi film was a huge hit in 2018, with audiences responding to the highly tense atmosphere and the talents of real-life husband and wife John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
A real nerve shredder of a film that barely lets up for a second, this is one of the most effective thrillers of recent years.

Purbeck Film Festival
Supported by the BFI and its South West Regional Hub the Purbeck Film Festival has, in its 24 years, continued to grow in terms of venues and audience numbers. Our primary aim is to provide a rich variety of cinematic experiences across a rural area which does not have easy access to foreign language, independent and classic films.
