Ospreys at Poole Harbour

Once persecuted Ospreys are now spreading back across their original range in the UK. Every year osprey from further north in the UK use Poole Harbour as a feeding station on their long journey south for the winter. In the last five years several osprey have stayed during the summer and last year a pair bred successfully in Poole Harbour for the first time in around 200 years – an amazing gain for these majestic birds.
