Careys Secret Garden: Wild Writing Workshop
Get closer to the natural world through words
Ever been interested in nature writing? In this two-hour workshop, we’ll get closer to the natural world through words. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced writer, and whether you prefer to write about real life or fiction. You’ll be in a safe and supportive environment, with no pressure to share your work or read out loud.
During the session, we’ll get immersed in nature, challenge ourselves with writing activities, and put pen to paper. We’ll explore techniques and find new inspiration. But above all, we’ll discover the connection between nature and writing against the beautiful backdrop of Carey’s Secret Garden. Where better to be inspired by the tranquility of nature?
This workshop is led by Dorset-based writer Katie Dancey-Downs, who writes everything from narrative non-fiction to short stories. Katie is assistant editor at Index On Censorship magazine and has written features for publications including Huffpost, i News, and Resurgence Magazine, as well as penning creative projects for the likes of Lush, Ordnance Survey, and the Co-op Foundation.
Location: The location of this Secret Garden (just a few minutes drive from Wareham Town Centre) will be revealed when you book your ticket!
