Bee Keeping Workshop at Careys Secret Garden

Introductory workshop into the world of bees!
Join Mike, Careys Bee Keeper for an introductory workshop into the world of bees and beekeeping!
A two-hour session in which you will learn the basics of beekeeping, the importance of pollination and the different roles bees play throughout their life cycle and more. Plus ‘bee’ time where you will get suited and booted for the opportunity to get up close to the bees and see first-hand the busy bees at work, and you may be lucky enough to spot the elusive queen. There will also be an opportunity to sample some of the bee’s delicious produce from a frame of honey, still warm from the hives!
At the end of the workshop you are welcome to explore the beautiful walled garden at Careys. You can pre-order your food from the Secret Salt Pig cafe. Sit and enjoy the birds singing, bees buzzing and smell the fragrant flowers whilst you enjoy a delicious light lunch!
All attendees will need to sign a liability waiver on arrival. Sturdy footwear (ideally wellies) and comfortable clothes are recommended, a peaked hat will prevent the bee veil from touching the face and rubber gloves may be preferred to protect the hands.
Tickets: £30.00 adult (picnic lunch £12.50)
