Holme for Gardens

‘Relax and be inspired’
Landscaped Gardens, Cafe, Farm Shop and Garden Centre

Holme is a family business. More than just a garden centre, Holme is all about the place, the beautiful surroundings, the relaxing ambience, the gorgeous plants, the gardens, the birdsong and most of all about people enjoying themselves. It is a place where people who like gardens and being outdoors choose to spend their day, to relax and to be inspired.

Visit the landscaped gardens

Come an enjoy the setting, the ambience, the scents, the colours and the wildlife to be found in the gardens at Holme. The basic layout is strongly influenced by gardens such as Hidcote Manor and The Laskett in that the garden is made up of distinct ‘rooms’ separated by hedges and areas of taller planting but linked by walks and the visitor is lead on by vistas and focal points and an urge to discover what is round the corner. The garden is still in its infancy and has a long way to go before it can be billed alongside the two aforementioned gardens but regular visitors love seeing the garden develop with more additions and expansions occurring each year.

Ampitheatre at Holme

Set in the heart of the Purbeck Hills, this wonderfully Open Air theatre is an extraordinary unique venue. The gardens are open for all to enjoy 1 hour before the performances. Perfect for all the family to enjoy a picnic and experience an evening of entertainment. Events at listed in the Visit Wareham What’s On section or check the Holme for Garden website.

The Orchard Café

Enjoy delicious Holme-made cakes, cream teas & lunches. The menu also showcases some of the fantastic produce available to us in Dorset. The “specials board” changes regularly to reflect the seasons and our locally sourced ingredients. The Orchard’s terrace area and pond side seating is perfect for al fresco dining. A tranquil spot to relax-a-while over lunch, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers.

Farm Shop

Open 7 days a week. We stock a wide range of produce, much of it sourced from Dorset & the South West. We aim to support local producers and farmers where possible. With fresh bread delivered daily (except Sunday), milk from a dairy farm at Osmington, local free range eggs, Dorset Tea and tasty bacon from just over the hill. Along with fruit, vegetables, cheeses, baking essentials and frozen foods we have plenty for your larder. Plus Holme-made scones, flapjacks, chocolate brownies, lemony lemon drizzle cakes and delicious Dorset Apple cakes.
We also have a fantastic range of local drinks including Corfe Castle Brewery, Dorset Brewing Company, Lyme Bay Winery, Dorset Nectar cider and much more.
