Carey’s Secret Garden

‘Visit 3.5 acres of beautiful gardens enclosed by a 150 year old wall!’

Behind a 150 year old wall, situated just outside of Wareham, Dorset, sits 3.5 acres in the midst of transformation. Carey’s Secret Garden opened its gate to the public in May this year. This wild, walled Victorian garden was rediscovered in 2019 and has undergone extensive restoration to re-imagine the gardens for a modern age.

Carey’s Secret Garden is a welcoming space that aims to inspire a return to nature. Created with expertise in Rewilding, Permaculture and Natural Gardening, Carey is open to an intimate number of visitors every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please note we are closed throughout August due to some secret projects!

Set against the backdrop of the spectacular Isle of Purbeck, Carey’s Secret Garden remains a closely guarded secret due to its unique habitat and sensitive wildlife projects. Visitors can expect to see a young and exciting space that they can return to enjoy seeing it grow over the coming years.

Berlin Wall Exhibition

A new exhibition of seven original four metre Berlin concrete wall fragments adorned with original graffiti and street art.

Open to the public from 11 am – 1.30 pm on the days the garden is open. Entry is £2.50 for pre-booked garden visitors and the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the communities who are kept apart by war and walls.
